To the Dad on a business trip.

David went on his annual business trip for meetings/sleep away from family for 4 days. During this time there’s a lot of radio silence since he’s off being merry and stuff. Instead of sending him a million short text messages, I sent him letters.

Dear David,

Hope your dinner/work trip is going well. It’s been an interesting evening here. The boys finished dinner and wanted to play on their tablets. I told them no and to find something else to play with or else I would throw out all of their toys. They decided that smashing their garbage and recycling trucks into each other would be a better choice of play time. That is until Rafael smashed Gabriel’s fingers against the coffee table.

Then we settled down to watch Curious George Christmas on Netflix. Well, Gabriel and I settled down, Rafael decided he was going to push the shiny red button on the power strip to turn off the TV, Cable Box, PlayStation… Just to name a few. Seriously, who was the wise guy who had to added ALL THE THINGS to ONE POWER STRIP? Once I got everything up and running I sat back down to get some work done, Gabriel was chilling on the small couch, and Rafael sat on the coffee table because that’s what he wanted to do right then and there. Before I could tell him to get off he looked at me straight in the eye and said “I’m going to jump.” So what does he do? He jumps. And he doesn’t make it to the couch…. Did you know that the couches are really springy? Rafael’s head is testament to that.

How is your night going?

XOXO,

Your wife.

Dear David,

You know how I’m always late to things? Well, to prevent that Grandma and I got an earlier than normal head start. 5 minutes before the absolute down to the wire time to leave is early, right? Lo and behold, the car tells me that the tire pressure is low. F**k. Well good thing my uncle was home because he has an air pump and the car only needed the front passenger side tire filled. Google maps saved us 15 minutes going a different way anyway! Score.

Love, your wife who needs you home right meow.

The boys are very goofy. This picture of Gabriel is actually one of my faves right now.

Grandma had a couple of appointments far from home. There was a pizza shop with Lasagna soup. I’m in love.

To the Dad on a business trip. - Raising Bridges  Got an email from Uno’s letting us know that Santa was having a special event for the kids.

Santa to Gabriel: What do you want for Christmas?
Gabriel: I want a gun with a long scope but it has to be a big gun with a big scope.
Santa: Uhhhh, you mean like a Nerf gun?
Gabriel: Yes. A Nerf gun!
Santa to Rafael: And you?
Rafael: I want a train!
Santa: Well it sounds like we have a couple of those laying around the workshop. Now what else would you like?
Gabriel: Another gun!
Rafael: Another train!

Oh boy.

Dear Rosemary, thank you for these updates. They really make my day go faster. I’m sorry that you had that rough ordeal, but I hope things are better now. I love you so much and can’t wait to see you. -David
